Just got the wake of Beth Black, a great friend, supporter of SUS, a fighter for public health policy more humane, just and egalitarian.
Some students had the opportunity to meet her when participating in the Conference on Mental Health last year and she was in a tb of classes in Psychology and Politics Public, as guest, talking about social control

write this email as a way of recognizing this person who was the protagonist in the construction of SUS, and that irreparable loss not only to a loss of health or of Caxias do Sul RS, but it is a loss for the SUS in Brazil .
met Beth when she was my teacher in the first course I did health counselors in mid-2001.
was a struggling since the beginning of the Brazilian Health Reform, a scholar of the law of the NHS and tb Psychiatric Reform taught us a lot. He was counselor of health and local city council for a long time in different administrations. participated actively as a user of the conferences of health in all instances and certainly its ideas and its ethical and policy contributed greatly to health.

Damn! Soon she even stayed in his hospital bed trying to help people and explaining to users about their rights. One person who did not speak only of rights but tb spoke of the duties of the user with their health care, a person who was always wielding weapons in the battle for health and ironically (or neglect?) Dies in a situation like this. is .. sorry!!
What saddens me most is that at a time when we are implementing the Health Agreement which requires the deployment of devices HNP - National Policy of Humanization of these devices and that is precisely the guarantee of family members to accompany the patient on admission in the face with this situation ...
I hope the example of Beth Black literally GAVE LIFE FOR HEALTH, can teach us that it is possible a more humane and garntia health rights in a country that calls itself democratic that it still has many challenges ahead ... Rest in Peace
